[00:00:00] Foreign. [00:00:16] I'm Joe Catalano with an AM Quincy news update for Monday, October 19th while a 61 year old Quincy woman remains in critical condition after being struck by a car near a Quincy senior housing development on Saturday night, the victim was hit near the Feno House on Hancock street in walliston just before 11:30 on Saturday evening. She was taken to a Boston hospital. The driver, a 64 year old Quincy woman, remained at the scene and the crash remains under investigation. [00:00:50] The nonprofit development arm of the Quincy Housing Authority has announced that it will purchase the former Eastern Nazarene College campus and create new housing on that site. At a standing room only event under a tent on the ENC campus on Saturday, Mayor Thomas Koch and Housing Authority Director James Morathes unveiled the plan that calls for the Quincy Development Corporation to purchase the 27 acre campus and create housing for first time home buyers and 55 and older housing. The purchase price was not disclosed. However, Morathis thanked Eastern bank for financing the project. Marathis also expects to request funding from the Quincy Affordable Housing Trust Fund and the Mayor said that some community preservation funds will be requested by the city. Mayor says the community would be involved in the redevelopment of the property and that the city may also use a portion of the site. The ENC Transition Board released a statement praising the agreement, saying it ensures that the property will continue to serve the community. [00:01:59] The agreement still needs approval from the attorney general's office. ENC closed last year after over 100 years in Quincy. Earlier this year, the City Council voted six to three against a plan by the city to purchase the property for $22.5 million. The city council is expected to discuss the ENC proposal and at their meeting tonight early in person voting for the Nov. 3 state election continues. Voters may cast ballots at Quincy City hall through October 30th from 8:30am to 4:30pm until 2:30 on the weekends. City Clerk Nicole Crispo is urging voters to know how they plan to vote on the nine ballot questions before coming to the polls to Prevent long lines. October 24th at 5pm is the last day and time to register to vote in the November 3rd election and October 27th is the last day to request a mail in ballot. Crispo is predicting a 50 to 52% voter turnout in Quincy. [00:03:10] Stop and Shop stores will offer all shoppers a 10% discount and as an apology for a security problem that's disrupting services on its website and app, Stop and Shop and Hannaford went offline after their parent company, Ahold Delhais, experienced a network security issue last Monday. The issue never impacted in store operations, but the websites and app display maintenance messages and as of this morning the sites are still down. [00:03:42] In a statement, Stop A Shop president Roger Wheeler apologized for the inconvenience and said there's no indication that customer data is impacted by the problem. [00:03:52] Delivery orders can be placed through third party sites like Instacart, DoorDash and Uber Eats. Stores, pharmacies and gas stations remain open during normal business hours. Any unfulfilled orders placed through the websites or apps during the outage will be refunded. It's unclear when the apps and websites will be back up and running again.
